Pricing & plans
Yes. Every account gets ten QR codes and ten short links at no cost, with no trial clock and no credit card. Dynamic codes, analytics, A/B testing, customization, and encryption are all included. We do not run ads on your pages or in your dashboard.
There is no trial because there is no paid plan to trial. The free tier is the product. Static-style (raw) codes keep working forever; dynamic codes keep working forever too.
QR//GEN is a personal project from Anirudh (Ani) Sridharan. It was built to help small businesses and Non-Profits get QR codes for free. There is no investor pressure and no plan to introduce ads.

QR codes
A tracked (dynamic) code sends scanners through QR//GEN, logs the scan, and forwards to a destination you can edit later. A raw code encodes the payload directly into the QR — it works even if QR//GEN is offline, but it cannot be edited and does not record analytics.
Tracked codes, yes. Update the destination, payload, label, colors, or error-correction level from your dashboard without reprinting. Raw codes cannot be changed once printed.
Website URLs, Wi‑Fi, vCard contacts, email, SMS, phone calls, WhatsApp, plain text, geo locations, and calendar events. That is ten payload types, all dynamic-capable.
You can set foreground and background color and toggle the quiet zone (margin). Error-correction level (L, M, Q, H) is also configurable. Logos inside the code are not supported yet.
Yes. The QR image endpoint serves a renderable image you can save. Use your dashboard to grab the code for any of your links.
Instantly. As soon as you create a code it is live and ready to download or print.
Short links & A/B testing
A tracked URL on the QR//GEN domain that redirects to a destination you choose. Each short link logs clicks with country, region, city, device, referrer, and timestamp.
Add multiple destinations (variants) to a short link and assign each a weight from 1 to 100. QR//GEN picks a variant based on the weights and sets a first-party cookie so the same visitor keeps landing on the same destination on future visits.
Yes. Edit the destination, weight, or name from the short-link detail page. Existing cookies still point returning visitors to their original variant until the cookie expires.
Analytics & privacy
For each scan or click we record approximate location (country, region, city derived from IP), device type (mobile, tablet, desktop, bot, unknown), referrer, user agent, and timestamp. For A/B tests we also record which variant the visitor was sent to.
No. We approximate location from the IP at request time and then discard the IP. We never store the visitor's IP, name, or any personally identifiable information.
Yes. Destinations, labels, payloads, referrers, and user agents are encrypted with AES-256-GCM before they are written to the database. Lookup fields like slugs and aggregate stats (country, device, timestamps) stay in the clear so the product can function. Read the privacy policy.
No, never. We do not sell or share your data with third parties.
Scan and click records older than 365 days are automatically deleted by a scheduled job. Your QR codes and short links remain for as long as your account is active.
One HTTP-only session cookie keeps you signed in. Short links that run an A/B test set a first-party cookie so the same visitor keeps seeing the same destination. No ad cookies, no third-party cookies.
Account & access
Passwordless email magic links only. Enter your email, click the link we send you, and you are in. No passwords, no Google, no OAuth.
Yes. Reach out via anisri.dev/contact and we will remove your account and all associated data.
An email address. That is it. Sign in, open the dashboard, and create your first code or short link.
There is nothing to cancel — there is no plan and no billing. You can stop using the service any time, or request full account deletion.
